How would you like to go outside and take a mile-long stroll and make some extra money? Well, it’s possible, and there are several mobile apps that will allow you to record your steps and earn extra money doing it.
So, in this article, I’ll show you six apps where you can go for walks and earn money every single day. I will show you what you can expect out of each app and, at the end of this article, I’ll share with you even better ways you can make some good money online.
Before I begin, I need to give you a disclaimer about walking apps: they can’t replace your daily income! You will need to walk miles upon miles before you will earn any significant income from the walking apps I am about to show you. Unless you’re willing to give up driving and just walk to where you need to go, these walking apps will earn you peanuts, but nothing more than that.
If you’d like to earn more money from your phone, I recommend taking mobile surveys and I have a list of 17 good mobile survey apps to get started!
With that out of the way, let’s get started with the list of walking apps.
1. Achievement
Achievement is a great app that is willing to pay you a few dollars for providing them anonymous health data every single day. Because of this data, Achievement has helped researchers to better understand the health of people like you, and you get paid to be a part of this research!
And the best part is: over three million are using Achievement to get paid and help enhance awareness of public health. You can be one of those people!
All you need to do is connect at least one health or fitness app to Achievement to earn Achievement points. These health or fitness apps include Google Fit, Fitbit, MyFitnessPal, Strava, and more. You can redeem your points into PayPal cash, into a gift card, or you can donate your earnings to a charity of your choice.
This is by far the best mobile app where you can get paid to stay healthy and walk outside. This app has even been featured in news outlets like The New York Times and CNBC. Head over to the Achievement website to learn more about the Achievement app and get started!

2. Winwalk
Winwalk is a very simple and straightforward pedometer app that will pay you to walk and record your mile-long treks. The only thing cool about Winwalk is that they don’t ask you to create an account to get started. All you have to do is install the app, get walking, and start earning. The only time you put in your information is when it’s time for you to redeem your earnings.
However, there is an earning limit. You’re limited to 10,000 steps a day on the app. Every time you make 100 steps, you earn 1 coin inside the app, meaning that you can earn up to only 100 coins a day. And you need at least 16,000 coins before you can redeem your earnings. So, if you’re willing to wait 6 months before you can get your reward, this app can work well for you.
By the way, you can redeem your earnings with various gift cards like Amazon, Walmart, Google Play, and more. You can learn more about this app on the Winwalk website.
3. Runtopia
The mission of Runtopia is to see more people like you get out and get moving! And they encourage you by paying you every time you walk or run. While it’s aimed for runners, I do think Runtopia will allow you to walk (though it will take more time for you to earn).
Runtopia pays you in coins, which can be redeemed into PayPal or other rewards like fitness gear and even a smartphone. You can even start a club inside the Runtopia app to encourage others to run alongside you.
And just like Winwalk, they have an earning limit, so it may take you a few months before you are able to redeem anything from Runtopia. But, as long as you keep moving, you might get a little closer to your reward than you think.
There is more information about this app that you can find on the Runtopia website, so make sure to check it out.
4. Lifecoin
This is another great app that is willing to pay you just to see you moving around, whether it be walking, running, or hiking. When you install Lifecoin, it tracks your steps and pays you based on your steps. The app is named after its digital currency, life coins.
You can exchange your life coins for PayPal or for gift cards that will allow you to buy from Amazon, Sephora, Uber, and others. You can also redeem your coins for cool tech gadgets like wireless earbuds, a smartphone, or even a UAV drone.
Lifecoin also has cool features to incentivize you to use it more. You can invite friends to move alongside you as a team and, when you refer your friends to the app, you can get paid coins for that as well! Now that’s sweet!
And, in case you’re wondering, I don’t know if they have a daily earning limit like the other apps I showed in this article. But try it out and see for yourself how rewarding it can be to exercise with LifeCoin. You can check out the LifeCoin website for more information.
5. Yodo
Yodo is a neat health management app that not only tracks your steps, but also gives you health advice and recommends to you how much exercise you should be doing in order to meet your goals. And, of course, they pay you to walk or run, and there are no earning limits so you can always make money moving around!
Not only that, but you can also earn cash by referring others to download the app as well as by adding other sports activities that you do inside the app. You can also find exercise partners inside the app and even search for people who are using the app in your area!
There are a few problems with it, though. First, I am not sure how Yodo is going to pay you in cash, and second, there have been a few bad reviews saying that the app has a few problems. So, if you try this app, be prepared to try a different app just in case it doesn’t work out for you.
Overall, Yodo seems to be a good app because, while you earn some extra money, you also help your body stay fit in the process!

6. Step Younger+ (Unavailable)
The more you move, the closer you are to your reward. That’s what Step Younger+ is all about.
This app is particularly engaging to you. When you install the app, it will track your steps. You can then exchange your steps for tech prizes like wireless earbuds or collect puzzle pieces as you exercise with the app. If you complete the puzzle, you earn cash rewards such as an Amazon gift card!
That means, as long as you keep moving with the app, you can collect more puzzle pieces and get to your cash reward quicker.
Not only that, but Step Younger+ does have a health tracker where you can monitor your blood pressure and heart rate, track your water intake, and set exercise goals. So, if you’re looking for an interactive way to stay fit and move toward prizes and cash rewards, this is a great app to get started!

Bonus Walking Apps
Those were six apps where you are guaranteed to make real cash. However, here are some bonus apps where you can get rewarded for your walks in other ways.
Betting Exercise App
StepBet is an app where you basically bet your money into a pot and challenge yourself to be the most active in your group of friends. If you win the challenge, you earn all the money in the pot. This is risky, though, but if you think of yourself as a swift runner, you will probably enjoy StepBet.
- StepBet on Google Play or the App Store
Reward Exercise Apps
Here are some apps where you can earn points that can be redeemed exclusively for non-cash rewards that can be shipped right to your door or digitally sent to you by email. Rewards include tech gadgets, snacks, and coupons.
- Sweatcoin on Google Play or the App Store
- Lympo on the App Store
Charity Exercise Apps
And, finally, these apps will allow you to take the earnings you make from your steps and donate them to your favorite charity.
- atlasGO on Google Play or the App Store
- Charity Miles on the App Store
Conclusion
So I hope this article gave you ideas as to what apps you can download in order to make money or other rewards just by getting some exercise and fresh air.
The reason why some companies are paying you to walk is mainly for research just so they can understand how people like you stay active every single day. Don’t worry, though: pretty much all these companies seriously care about your privacy and will keep your information confidential.
But, if you have concerns, thankfully, there are other ways you can make money with your phone. Consider checking out these articles:
Anyway, I hope this article inspired you to go out and stay fit and physically active. Now it’s time to start downloading any of these walking apps and start earning money for the steps that you take outdoors.
Again, it will take time before you can claim your reward, but always remember: slow and steady wins the race. Now go out, enjoy yourself, and get earning!
